Step into the cradle of civilisation

From Baghdad to Babylon to Karbala to Najaf to the Marshes to Samarra to Mosul to Erbil, Hussein was an expert guide.

We saw wonderful Iraqi Souks, Mosques, Shrines, Minarets, Ziggurats, the amazing Marshes and so many varied historical sites under Hussein’s direction.

At each location, Hussein was able to provide history and background information that added to our knowledge for all of our group as first time visitors.

Hussein also selected excellent restaurants for our enjoyment.

During my particular trip, I was visiting 6 Middle East countries, each for the first time, but Hussein made Iraq my personal favorite country.

In addition to his extensive knowledge of Iraq, Hussein is a great person, who made each destination fun and rewarding.

Iraq is an exciting, safe, amazing country to visit. I have so many great memories, but my highlights include the beautiful Iraqi Marshes and the Shrines.

My experience with Hussein made the trip better and more exciting than I had imagined. I had an idea of what to expect but what really made the difference was the personal touch, the local knowledge, the who you know that can get you that special Iraqi hospitality, and that was Hussein. A normal day was intertwined with visits to old coffee and modern coffee shops, street walks talking with friendly Iraqis and being allowed to taste a part of their day watching them make amazing delicacies.

Iraq is enchanting, a place that must be seen. Hussein made a dream come true for us, he helped us plan our initial logistics for months, which resulted in a carefully curated unique land tour. Hussein went out of his way to customize and accommodate our experience. He advised us of customs and tradition, he was careful to make sure we had clothes and gear to fully immerse ourselves, respectfully and comfortably. His efforts connected us with incredible ancient cities and bustling souks, fantastic architecture and design, stark realities of harsh environments, and the amazing resiliency of people and nature! Along the way, we shared meals, stories, and diverse perspectives; by the end of our tour, we felt like family. I left Iraq feeling grateful and hopeful. I am still in awe, and I hope I can return. Hussein is an excellent guide. Everything from arrival to departure went smoothly. I had just a few days and was able to see a lot of the key sights without feeling rushed. Hussein knows the history in depth and describes it in an engaging and interesting way, helping you to appreciate it more. On top of it, he is creative and artistic and goes above and beyond to help find the perfect photo spots.
